    These allow you to recover files from a working or formatted hard drive, a lost or damaged partition, and an external storage device (memory card, camera, mobile phone and so on).

    Tried this on a malfunctioning drive and it scanned for a long time; then timed out. But, I fault the drive. I tried to read the drive several times with windows and it keeps failing. Then I tried a USB that was deleted and it found more than one copy of files, including photos. I restored all of them to a different drive and there were several good copies of each file.
